DepEd chief optimistic on benefits of AI for quality education

Surigao Sur IP leader welcomes NCIP transfer to OP

Datu Rico Maca, an Indigenous People (IP) leader in Surigao del Sur, praised the recent transfer of the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) to the Office of the President (OP) from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Maca believes the move, outlined in Executive Order No. 71, will enhance government attention on IP concerns, improving resource allocation and ensuring more efficient implementation of programs that protect IP rights and ancestral lands. Batangas deploys mobile kitchen, distributes meds to typhoon victims

13 Eastern Visayas areas under state of calamity due to flooding

TACLOBAN CITY – At least 13 areas in two Samar provinces have been placed under state of calamity as massive flooding triggered by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami) displaced thousands of families. DSWD assures sufficient relief goods stockpile, funds for ‘ayuda’

Manila: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Thursday assured it has sufficient stockpile of relief goods and budget for the provision of financial assistance for recovery efforts of those affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami) which continue to batter most of Luzon and parts of the Visayas. In a Palace press briefing, Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian said family food packs have been prepositioned to the DSWD’s regional, provincial and municipal hubs ahead of the onslaught of Kristine, in line with its ‘Buong Bansa Handa’ program which replenishes supply of essential goods all-year round.
