Bacolod: The ongoing renovation of the Emergency Room (ER) at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) is on track for completion by the end of the year, with an expected finish in the first week of January.
According to Philippines News Agency, the CLMMRH management confirmed that the project, led by Durabuild Construction, aims for a completion date of January 5, 2026. The contractor plans to hand over the project by December 31, provided there are no significant weather-related setbacks.
Dr. Joan Cerrada, CLMMRH medical center chief, and the hospital’s executive committee recently met with Health Undersecretary Mary Ann Maestral to review the progress of the renovation. Cerrada expressed gratitude to the Department of Health (DOH) for its ongoing support, noting that the upgraded ER will enhance the hospital’s capacity to provide effective emergency care.
Undersecretary Maestral emphasized the importance of a quality, safe, and timely completion of the project, reinforcing the DOH’s commitment to maintaining CLMMRH’s status as a leading tertiary hospital and referral center in the region.
The renovation project, valued at nearly PHP92 million, began on September 28 and focuses on improving space management in the ER. During the renovation, CLMMRH has partnered with six private hospitals in Bacolod to ensure continuous emergency care for the community. This is facilitated through memorandums of agreement with these hospitals.
To manage the patient load during the renovation, CLMMRH has developed an Integrated Hospital Operations Monitoring System, featuring an ER Consortium Monitoring System. This system helps match patients with available beds at CLMMRH or the private hospitals. Patients initially treated at a private hospital may be transferred back to CLMMRH once stabilized and when beds are available, with CLMMRH covering the emergency service costs for referred patients.
