Scattered Rains Expected Across the Philippines on Monday

Manila: Most areas in the country are forecast to experience rain showers on Monday due to three prevailing weather systems and the northeast monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said. The shear line, intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), and the easterlies will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms across Palawan, Cagayan and Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Mindanao. Moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods or landslides, the weather bureau said. P838.5M Worth of Assistance Provided to Tino, Uwan Victims

Manila: Around PHP838.5 million worth of assistance has already been extended to the victims of twin typhoons Tino (international name Kalmaegi) and Uwan (international name Fung-wong), according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD). The agency said this assistance came from various government agencies, local government units, the private sector, and non-government organizations. According to Philippines News Agency, assistance amounting to PHP416 million and PHP422.2 million has been provided to victims of Tino and Uwan, respectively.
