Shipping Lines Suspend Travel from Dumaguete Due to Tropical Depression Crising
Dumaguete: Some shipping lines cancelled their scheduled trips from this Negros Oriental capital on Thursday due to Tropical Depression Crising, which enhanced the southwest monsoon. Lt. Marionne Abigail Enopia, Coast Guard Station-Negros Oriental commander, told the Philippine News Agency that the shipping companies took the initiative to suspend sea travel by noontime. According to Philippines News Agency, despite the absence of a tropical cyclone wind signal and gale storm warning over Negros Oriental, the shipping lines announced their cancellation of trips after the weather worsened by midday. At least seven trips plying the Dumaguete-Siquijor and Dumaguete-Dapitan (Mindanao) routes were cancelled
