PCG Evacuates Over 500,000 People from Six Regions Ahead of ‘Pepito’.
Manila: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) evacuated 561,528 individuals and 161,527 families from six regions as of Sunday morning ahead of Super Typhoon Pepito (Man-yi). According to Philippines News Agency, the evacuations were conducted by approximately 6,790 personnel as part of the PCG’s monitoring activities in the Bicol, Southern Tagalog, Northwestern Luzon, Northeastern Luzon, National Capital Region (NCR), and Eastern Visayas regions. The PCG Command has deployed seven vessels and 613 land mobility and surface vehicles to support the national government’s humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations.
