Manila: The death toll for the combined effects of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name Trami) and Super Typhoon Leon (international name Kong-rey) has climbed to 139, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Wednesday. Of the 139 reported deaths, only 14 has been so far validated — with nine in Bicol, two in Central Luzon, two in Cordillera and one in Northern Mindanao, according to the disaster response body’s latest situation report.
