Manila: The Manila City government on Tuesday said its South Cemetery would soon have its own crematorium. In a statement, Mayor Honey Lacuna said the city government approved the PHP24.8 million proposal of the winning bidder, Chainworks Corporation. She said the crematorium project was bid out on Aug. 30. ‘The crematorium is one of our high-impact, pro-poor infrastructure projects implemented by the Manila Health Department (MHD). MALASIQUI, Pangasinan – Severe Tropical Storm Kristine has left an initial PHP622 million worth of damage to infrastructure and over PHP241 million worth of damage to agriculture in Pangasinan. Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) data show that most of the reported damage to infrastructure include dilapidated asphalt overlay on provincial roads, damaged bridges and provincial buildings, food stalls at the beachfront in Lingayen town, and the baywalk in Bonuan Binloc in Dagupan City. For agriculture, bulk of the damage is on rice at PHP123.55 million, followed by fruits, PHP44.6 million; corn, PHP5.21 million; and vegetables, PHP1.98

BATANGAS CITY – The provincial government of Batangas is urging residents in flood-prone and landslide-stricken towns to evacuate as it braces for Typhoon Leon.
