CIDG agents nab 2 ‘MILF commanders’ for gunrunning

COTABATO CITY – Two individuals who claimed to be field commanders of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) were arrested in separate entrapment operations by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (CIDG-BARMM) for selling firearms in Marawi City on Monday afternoon. Comelec: 236K registrants beat voter sign-up deadline

Manila: The Commission on Elections (Comelec) received a total of 236,442 voter applications on the last day of sign-up activities on Monday. PH factory index in September highest in 2 years

Manila: Philippine factories solidified their performance at the end of third quarter of the year, recording a 53.7 purchasing managers’ index (PMI), the highest since mid-2022, SandP Global Manufacturing PMI reported Tuesday. The country’s manufacturing PMI in September 2024 was also stronger compared to the 51.2 index in August this year. SandP Global Market Intelligence economist Maryam Baluch said the significant improvement in the Philippines manufacturing performance in September was mainly driven by the sharp expansions in factory output and new orders. Baluch said the domestic demand buoyed the local industry despite the notable drop in orders from overseas markets.

Police go after illegal drag racers in Bacolod City

BACOLOD CITY – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) warned those involved in illegal drag racing that they could be arrested and penalized for violating the city ordinance and national laws prohibiting such acts.
