PBBM: Admin coalition still supports Imee’s reelection bid

Manila: The Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas still supports the senatorial bid of reelectionist Senator Imee Marcos despite her withdrawal from the administration’s slate, her brother President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said Monday. Imee was included in the 12-person senatorial lineup of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas coalition which the President unveiled on Thursday. A day after, however, Imee announced she would not join the administration’s ticket. ‘That’s fine… That’s her choice. I supposed it gives her a little bit of scope and freedom to make her own schedule to campaign the way that she would like to do,’

Julian watch: PBBM says food packs being prepared; healthcare ready

Manila: President Ferdinand R. PHLPost gives Christmas season schedule for mails, parcels

Manila: The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has advised overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to send their Christmas mails and parcels ahead of time to ensure recipients get them during the holidays. In a news release on Monday, the PHLPost said it has suggested dates of mailing at post offices for different kinds of mails and parcels. Holiday-related domestic express mail should be sent on or before Dec. 6 in Metro Manila; Dec. 4 in Luzon; and Nov. 29 in Visayas and Mindanao. Less than P1 oil price hike set Oct. 1

Manila: Oil firms will increase pump prices at the start of October. In separate advisories, Caltex, Cleanfuel, Jetti, Petro Gazz, Seaoil, and Shell announced that they will hike gasoline and diesel prices by PHP0.45 and PHP0.90 per liter. Caltex, Seaoil, and Shell will also increase kerosene prices by PHP0.30 per liter. Last week, oil companies implemented a PHP1.20 per liter increase for gasoline and PHP0.20 per liter hike for diesel, while there was no adjustment on kerosene prices. With the recent price movement, year-to-date prices of gasoline and diesel had a net increase of PHP5.85 and PHP1.95 per liter, respectively.

Erwin Tulfo leads Pahayag September senatorial survey

Manila: On the eve of the start of filing of certificates of candidacy for the 2025 elections on Tuesday, political consultancy firm Publicus Asia released a senatorial preference survey where ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo emerged as the leading candidate. The PAHAYAG survey, conducted from Sept. 15 to 19, 2024, found that 42 percent of the respondents would vote for Tulfo if the elections were held during the survey period. He was followed closely by former senators Panfilo Lacson and Vicente Sotto III with 38 percent and 37 percent, respectively. Former President Rodrigo Duterte took fourth place with 36 percent.
