Number Of Kedah Flood Victims Rises To 1,384

ALOR SETAR, The number of flood victims in Kedah has increased to 1,384 people from 444 families as of 4 pm today, compared to 1,359 people from 436 families reported earlier this morning. According to the Social Welfare Department’s Info Bencana report, one temporary relief centre in Kubang Pasu has been closed, leaving 10 centres still operational. N. Sembilan Hopes Federal Govt Will Approve Plan To Create Central Industrial Corridor

SEREMBAN, The Negeri Sembilan government hopes that the federal government can approve the plan to create the Central Industrial Corridor involving Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan, with an expected allocation of RM700 billion. PUTRAJAYA, The Court of Appeal here awarded former radio announcer Khairu Norliza Khairudin RM56,000 in compensation today, ruling that she was unlawfully dismissed from employment in 2018. The three-judge panel, comprising Court of Appeal judges Datuk Lee Swee Seng, Datuk Azimah Omar and High Court judge Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh, allowed Khairu Norliza’s appeal against the High Court’s decision which overturned the Industrial Court’s award. Justice Lee, who chaired the panel, however, reduced the compensation amount initially awarded by the Industrial Court to Khairu Norliza, 38, from RM133,000 to RM56,000.
