Bursa Malaysia Opens Higher, Tracking Wall Street’s Overnight Performance

KUALA LUMPUR, Bursa Malaysia rebounded from yesterday’s losses to open higher today, tracking Wall Street’s overnight upbeat performance, said an analyst. At 9.10 am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 3.47 points to 1,668.77 from Monday’s close of 1,665.30. The benchmark index opened 1.95 points firmer at 1,667.25. FBM KLCI Futures Higher In Early Trade

KUALA LUMPUR, FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures were higher in the early session today, tracking the underlying cash market. At 9.18 am, September 2024 added 8.5 points to 1,669.0, October 2024 rose 8.0 points to 1,672.0, December 2024 gained 7.0 points to 1,676.0 and March 2025 improved 9.0 points to 1,663.0. Number Of Flood Victims In Kedah Falls, Situation Stays In Perak This Morning

KUALA LUMPUR, The number of flood victims in Kedah and Perak recorded a total of 6,833 people in 34 temporary evacuation centres (PPS) as of 8 this morning compared to 7,210 people last night. In KEDAH, the number of flood victims dropped to 6,804 people from 2,173 families compared to 7,181 people placed in 33 PPS in the four affected districts last night. Kota Setar still recorded the highest number of victims with 4,638 people, followed by Pendang (1,606), Kubang Pasu (493) and Pokok Sena with 67 people.
