PSA-Negros Occidental registers daycare kids for national ID

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is conducting national identification (ID) registration for daycare learners in seven areas in Negros Occidental from September to October this year. In Bacolod, 54 children were registered in Barangay Punta Taytay on Sept. 3, while 65 enlisted in Barangay Pinaguinpinan, Kabankalan City on Sept. 6. E. Visayas council seeks mobile passport application processing

The Eastern Visayas Regional Development Council (RDC) has asked the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to conduct mobile passport application processing services in the region due to difficulties in securing online appointments. Department of Budget and Management Regional Director Imelda Laceras, chair of the RDC Development Administration Committee, said the council approved on Sept. 19 the resolution to help fast-track passport applications. PSEi strong, peso flat on Friday

Manila: The local index finished the last day of trading for the week strong, while the peso barely moved. The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended Friday gaining 0.70 percent at 7,252.32 points, with All Shares also closing higher by 0.62 percent at 3,895.62 level. Hike in HFCS import clearance fee seen to curb use of artificial sugar

The substantial increase in the import clearance fee for high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is seen to limit the use of artificial sweeteners in the country.
