FBM KLCI Futures Higher In Early Trade

FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures were higher in the early session on Friday, tracking the underlying cash market. At 9.40 am, the September 2024, October 2024 and December 2024 contracts rose 7.5 points to 1,671.5, 1,674.0, and 1,679.0, respectively, while March 2025 advanced 6.0 points to 1,663.5. Turnover stood at 2,539 lots, with open interest at 47,965 contracts. The FBM KLCI went up by 6.36 points to 1,672.01 after 40 minutes of trading. Source: BERNAMA News Agency

SAP To Monitor Water Supply Infrastructure In Flood-Hit Areas

Syarikat Air Perlis (SAP) is ready to monitor water supply infrastructure in flood-hit areas to ensure supply to consumers in the state is not disrupted. The Terengganu Health Department (JKNT) has established an independent committee to investigate allegations of negligence by staff in the maternity ward at Dungun Hospital, which purportedly led to the death of a newborn. JKNT director, Datuk Dr. Kasemani Embong, stated that the investigation was initiated following a viral post on X by the account owner ‘Matdan The Great (@rushashraf)’ on Sept 17.
