Bursa Malaysia Higher In Early Trade

Bursa Malaysia moved higher in early trade today, tracking a rally on Wall Street overnight. At 9.15 am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) advanced 5.10 points to 1,670.75 from Thursday’s close of 1,665.65. The benchmark index opened 5.03 points higher at 1,670.68. In the broader market, gainers led decliners 400 to 105, with 273 counters unchanged, 1,697 untraded and 32 suspended. Turnover amounted to 301.88 million shares worth RM224.0 million. Increase In Number Of Kedah Flood Evacuees

The number of flood evacuees in Kedah has risen to 6,087 as of 8 am today, compared to 4,425 last night, while the situation in Perlis and Penang remains largely unchanged. The Royal Malaysian Customs Department’s Central Zone Unit III (LTAKL) successfully dismantled a smuggling operation involving various goods, with seizures valued at over RM1.76 million, including duties, in August.
