Bursa Malaysia Stays In Red At Mid-Afternooon, CI Down 0.95 Pct
KUALA LUMPUR, Kuala Lumpur shares continued their downtrend at mid-afternoon on selling pressure across the board, taking the cue from global stock markets. At 3 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) dropped 15.77 points, or 0.95 per cent, to 1,644.58 from yesterday’s close of 1,660.35. The benchmark index opened 6.78 points weaker at 1,653.57. Across the broader market, decliners surpassed advancers 808 to 214, with 401 counters unchanged, 1,043 untraded and six suspended. Turnover amounted to 2.01 billion units valued at RM1.84 billion.
