KUANTAN, A housewife lost RM144,750 after being deceived into investing in an investment scheme that does not exist. Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said the 44-year-old housewife, from Jerantut, was attracted to invest in the alleged ASNB Investment Trust as it offered lucrative returns. FBM KLCI Futures Close Lower

KUALA LUMPUR, The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today, tracking the underlying cash market. Spot month August 2024 slipped 89.0 points to 1,530.0, September 2024 dropped 87.5 points to 1,513.0, December 2024 fell 89.5 points to 1,520.0 and March 2025 slid 90.0 points to 1,510.0. Turnover improved to 19,125 lots from 10,184 on Friday, while open interest increased to 63,439 contracts from 53,986 previously. Nenggiri By-election: EC Issues 43 Postal Ballot Papers

PUTRAJAYA, The Election Commission (EC) has issued 43 postal ballot papers to eligible voters for the Nenggiri state by-election in Kelantan. EC secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak said 41 ballot papers were issued for Category 1A (election workers and police personnel) and two for Category 1C (agencies and organisations). ‘All police personnel involved in this by-election have been issued with postal ballot papers.
