Police Topple LRT 3 Cabel Theft Ring With Arrest Of Five Construction Workers

KUALA LUMPUR: The police toppled a cable theft ring at the Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT 3) construction site with the arrest of five male workers, including a Pakistani national, at three project sites yesterday. Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director, Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, said the arrests were made between 6.30 pm and 9.00 pm in Shah Alam and Damansara. FBM KLCI futures end lower

KUALA LUMPUR: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today. Spot month August 2024 and March 2025 slid 12.0 points to 1,619.0 and 1,600.0, respectively, September 2024 shed 11.5 points to 1,600.5, and December 2024 fell 8.5 points to 1,609.5. Turnover improved to 10,184 lots from 6,394 lots on Thursday, while open increased to 53,986 contracts from 50,296 contracts previously. Sebatu To Be Crab Farming Project Centre

JASIN, The waters around Sebatu in Sungai Rambai will be turned into crab farming project that uses the transfer of seed production technology from South Korea. Perak Transit proposes RM1.5 bln sukuk programme

KUALA LUMPUR: Perak Transit Bhd (PTrans) has proposed establishing an Islamic medium-term notes programme of RM1.5 billion in nominal value, based on the Shariah principle of Wakalah Bi Al-Istithmar sukuk. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, PTrans stated that the sukuk programme would have a perpetual tenure, allowing for the issuance of sukuk Wakalah as needed. PTrans will also have the flexibility to issue the sukuk programme in compliance with relevant sustainability guidelines. Proceeds from the sukuk issuance will be used to finance and reimburse the capital expenditure of PTrans and its subsidiaries. This includes development and construction costs
