LTFRB exec tells public not to pay new fare without matrix

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) 10 (Northern Mindanao) has cautioned commuters against paying the new fare if drivers fail to post the fare matrix as the agency implements the increased rate nationwide starting October 3.   Aminoden Guro, LTFRB-10 director, said in an interview Saturday that the new minimum fare for the traditional jeepney for the first four kilometers is PHP12, with an add-on charge of PHP1.80 per succeeding kilometer.   From PHP13, modernized public utility vehicles (PUVs) will now collect a minimum fare of PHP14 for the first four kilometers and PHP2.20 per succeeding kilometer.

Latest military ATMOS units arrive in Central Mindanao

Eight units of the self-propelled 155-mm Autonomous Truck Mounted Howitzer System (ATMOS) 2000 arrived here Saturday to increase the military’s capability in the fight against terrorism in Central Mindanao.   The military hardware were sent Friday afternoon from Makar Port in General Santos City.   Maj. Actor among 55 arrested in QCPD operations

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested 55 suspects in its latest anti-criminality operations on Friday and Saturday, including an actor and fugitives on the Most Wanted Persons (MWP) list.   Of the 55 suspects, 11 were caught in separate buy-bust operations.   Actor Dominic Roco, 33, and four others were nabbed in Barangay Holy Spirit at about 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, according to a QCPD news release on Saturday.   The others were Reynaldo Sanchez, 45; Eugene Marvin Tolentino, 27; Renz Anthony Cruz, 33; and Dexie Diamante, 21.   Confiscated from them were suspected shabu with an estimated street
