The local government of Narvacan in Ilocos Sur launched Thursday its new digital palengke (market) app as it introduces cashless transactions among its constituents when going to the public market. Facebook parent Meta posted its slowest growth in 10 years in terms of revenue, according to its financial results statement released late Wednesday. Meta had total revenue of USD27.9 billion in the first quarter of 2022, just a 6.5 percent increase from USD26.2 billion in the same period of last year. Davao Region’s economic performance in 2021 recorded a high of 5.9 percent, a significant increase from the negative 7.5 percent in 2020. The economy of Central Luzon rebounded last year from a double-digit contraction in 2020, the Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office-Central Luzon (PSA RSSO III) reported on Thursday. Results from the latest regional accounts showed the region’s economic output rose to 7.4 percent last year, reversing the 13.9-percent drop in 2020.
