BARMM adjusts work hours for fasting Muslims

Civil servants in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) are now allowed to go home from work at 3:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Mobile telecommunications and broadband provider Globe Telecom Inc. (Globe) has stepped up its campaign against online child pornography and illegal gambling. In a statement Monday, Globe said a total of 11,320 uniform resource locators (URL) and 502 domains hosting pornographic contents as well as 194 domains of illegal gambling have been blocked so far since the start of 2022. “Globe has invested over USD2.7 million in content filtering systems that block websites and imagery that promote child pornography, illegal gambling, and online piracy,” the statement read. Bacolod cops bust 70 drug suspects, seize P5.4-M shabu in March

Anti-drug teams of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) arrested 70 suspects and seized PHP5.396 million worth of suspected shabu in various operations for the month of March. Data released on Monday showed a total of 793.53 grams of illegal drugs, priced at PHP6,800 per gram, were recovered during the said period. Col. Baguio cuts cost with shift to LED streetlight bulbs

The city government has completed an PHP18.7-million project that replaced the traditional high-pressure sodium (HPS) bulbs in its streetlights with light-emitting diode (LED) fixtures to reduce electric consumption and provide better illumination. Aileen Refuerzo, Baguio’s chief information officer, said the project was completed last March 25 and was funded under the city’s supplemental budget.
