BARMM opens P6.3-M police station in Maguindanao town

The Ministry of the Interior and Local Government in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MILG-BARMM) has turned over a PHP6.25 million police station in the coastal town of Datu Blah Sinsuat in Maguindanao, an official said Friday. The Philippine National Police (PNP) will deploy some 17,000 personnel in “places of convergence” nationwide to secure travelers for the Lenten season and the summer months. PNP spokesperson, Col. Police authorities have arrested the vice governor of Surigao del Sur and his wife for estafa charges. In a report Friday, the Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (SDSPPO) said that Vice Governor Librado Navarro, 64, and his wife Maylene, 47, were arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 42 in Medina, Misamis Oriental. “They were arrested at around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 17 in San Andres, Barangay Maharlika, Bislig City,” the SDSPPO report said. The Philippine Army (PA) on Friday announced the launch of an integrated coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) information system designed to strengthen its prevention, detection, isolation, treatment, and reintegration efforts.
