US announces P800-M environmental conservation fund for PH

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is scaling up its support to the Philippines’ biodiversity conservation efforts as it announced a five-year grant facility worth PHP800 million that would directly support civil society organizations’ (CSOs) environmental programs in the country. 702 disadvantaged workers in CDO receive P2.5-M cash aid

A total of 702 workers who were disadvantaged or displaced due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic have received cash aid totaling PHP2.5-million on Friday. The fund comes from the “Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers” (TUPAD) under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the beneficiaries were the recent batch that received the cash aid. Employers cannot fire unvaxxed workers: DOLE-10

The Department of Labor and Employment in Northern Mindanao (DOLE-10) on Friday clarified that while the national government is encouraging the public to get anti-coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines, employers cannot terminate workers who would refuse to get inoculated.
