Strong quake in Alaska peninsula poses no tsunami threat to PH

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Thursday afternoon said there is no tsunami threat from the magnitude 8.2 earthquake recorded in the Alaska peninsula. Based on Phivolcs’ tsunami advisory issued at 4:17 p.m., no action is required as no destructive tsunami threat exists. Gov’t to provide cash aid to individuals in ECQ zones

Individuals residing in areas placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) will receive cash assistance from the national government, Malacañang said on Thursday.
