2 LTO Personnel, 10 Others Fixers Nabbed in Pasay Entrapment Operation

Pasay city: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has arrested 12 individuals, including two of its own personnel from the Pasay District Office, in an entrapment operation against illegal fixing activities in Pasay City on Aug. 14.

According to Philippines News Agency, LTO chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao stated that the two LTO officials involved in the incident were relieved from their posts pending an administrative investigation. The operation was executed by the LTO Law Enforcement Service-Field Enforcement Division (LES-FED) with the cooperation of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), including personnel from the Pasay City Police Station and Substation 8.

The arrests are a part of Lacanilao's 7-Point Reform Agenda aimed at eliminating corrupt practices within the agency to restore public trust in LTO services. Lacanilao emphasized the agency's commitment to eradicating such practices, stating, "We will not turn a blind eye to this kind of activity. We know how fixers operate, including LTO employees who may be involved, and we will continue to expand our operations to identify the people behind this."

He reiterated that the agency's efforts will persist until these practices are completely removed from LTO offices. The individuals arrested will undergo investigation and face appropriate charges if found guilty of engaging in illegal fixing activities.

The LTO will continue to fortify its anti-fixing operations in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies to ensure accountability and uphold clean and honest public service. The public is encouraged to avoid engaging with fixers and report any suspicious activity through the official Facebook page "Ireport Mo Kay LTO Chief" or the website https://ireportmokayltochief.ph/ for verification, investigation, and immediate action.
