13 Nabbed, Over PHP1-M Illegal Drugs Seized in Bicol Police Operations

Bicol: The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) has successfully apprehended 13 individuals and seized 159.17 grams of illegal drugs valued at PHP1.05 million during their recent anti-drug operations conducted on Wednesday, as indicated in a police report released on Thursday. Among the areas targeted, Camarines Sur saw the highest amount of illegal drugs confiscated, amounting to PHP683,900, with three suspects detained. Camarines Norte followed, with drugs worth PHP202,920 and six arrests. Naga City recorded PHP159,800 in drug seizures with two arrests, while Albay and Catanduanes each accounted for one arrest with drugs valued at PHP6,868 and PHP319, respectively.

According to Philippines News Agency, PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon praised the operating teams for their dedication and professionalism, which were instrumental in the success of these operations. Dizon emphasized that the battle against illegal drugs extends beyond law enforcement priorities, highlighting its importance in ensuring public safety and maintaining community peace.

“We remain resolute in our mission to combat the menace of illegal drugs in the Bicol Region. While we continue to intensify our efforts, we are also committed to observing due process and upholding the rights of those arrested,” stated Brig. Gen. Dizon.
