3 nabbed, P194-K shabu seized in Bacolod buy-busts

Three suspects were arrested while PHP194,400 worth of suspected shabu was seized by police drug enforcement teams in two separate buy-busts here on Wednesday afternoon, reports of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) showed.

At around 3:15 p.m., high-value target Steve Bais was collared by operatives of Police Station 4 in Purok Isla, Barangay Villamonte.

Using PHP3,000 worth of boodle money, a poseur-buyer transacted with the suspect, who is also a resident of the area.

Bais, 29, yielded two sachets of shabu, weighing about five grams, valued at PHP38,000, along with a .38-caliber revolver with no serial number loaded with two rounds of ammunition, and an 18-inch bladed weapon, among others.

Operatives also confiscated the suspect’s motorcycle, which does not bear a plate number.

In a radio interview, Bais said he had been jailed for six years for a robbery case and was released from prison only last year.

Bais, now detained at Police Station 4, will be charged with violations of Republic Act (RA) 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Earlier that day, operatives of the BCPO City Drug Enforcement Unit also arrested two persons in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2.

The suspects were identified as Frederick Dumalaoco, 50, a street-level individual, and Wilfred Languido, 26, both residents of the village.

An undercover policeman bought PHP500 worth of shabu from the suspects, the report said.

Both yielded eight sachets, containing 23 grams of the prohibited substance, with a standard drug price of PHP156,400.

Dumalaoco and Languido are now detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2.
