Mandaluyong city: Two bettors from Metro Manila and Laguna will share the PHP38.5-million jackpot from Monday night’s MegaLotto 6/45 draw. In an advisory released on Tuesday, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced that the winners, hailing from Barangay Plainview, Mandaluyong City, and San Pablo City, Laguna, successfully matched the winning numbers 40-10-16-28-07-09.
According to Philippines News Agency, the winners have a period of one year to claim their jackpot prize of PHP38,521,162.80 at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City. This prize is subject to a 20-percent tax as stipulated by the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law, which mandates that lotto winnings exceeding PHP10,000 are taxed at this rate.
In addition to the jackpot winners, there were 37 individuals who won PHP50,000 each by correctly guessing five out of the six winning numbers. Furthermore, 1,858 participants will receive PHP1,200 each for four correct numbers, and 29,347 will be awarded PHP50 each for three correct numbers. The 6/45 MegaLotto draws occur every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles urged the public to continue supporting the agency’s gaming products, which are crucial for generating additional revenue for health initiatives, medical services, and other national charities. Through its obligatory contributions, the PCSO aims to assist those in need of medical support and provide funding to government institutions.
