Zamboanga: Authorities scored anew in the campaign against illegal drugs as they arrested two high-value individuals (HVIs) and seized some PHP3.4 million worth of suspected shabu here on Saturday night.
According to Philippines News Agency, a report on Sunday by Col. Narciso Paragas, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula Assistant Director for Operations, revealed that the suspects were apprehended during a buy-bust operation around 6:22 p.m. in Barangay Cabatangan. Paragas identified the two arrested suspects through their aliases Algisno, 34, and Bossing, 36, both residents of Country Homes Subdivision, Barangay Ayala.
Recovered during the anti-drug operation were two plastic sachets of suspected shabu with a weight of 500 grams. Additionally, the authorities confiscated the buy-bust money, a mobile phone, and a motorcycle from the suspects. Paragas mentioned that the arrested individuals are currently detained at the Zamboanga City Police Office’s detention facility, awaiting the filing of charges. They will also undergo a drug test.
A day earlier, police agents also arrested two HVIs and seized about PHP13.6 million worth of illegal drugs in Barangay Baliwasan, also in this city.
