Spikers’ Turf Expands with Addition of Clearskiin UV Smashers

Taguig city: Clearskiin UV Smashers has officially joined the Spikers' Turf, recognized as the country's leading men's volleyball league. Team owners Sydney Calderon and Luis Calderon, alongside the players and coaching staff, were introduced to the media at an event held at the Seda Hotel in BGC.

According to Philippines News Agency, Sydney Calderon shared the motivation behind establishing the new team. She emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for players who found themselves without a team, allowing them to continue their passion for volleyball while also providing a source of income. Calderon, who also serves as the head coach for Savouge, expressed the desire to prevent the loss of talent due to a lack of opportunities.

The coaching team of the UV Smashers is led by Joe Bangit, who brings over 14 years of coaching experience from the United States. He is supported by assistant coaches Sandy Montero, Peter Torres, John Pagtalunan, Kenneth Hernandez, and Pawix Agir. Bangit highlighted the importance of team standards, stating that talent alone does not build a team; it requires consistent effort and accountability.

The player roster for the Clearskiin UV Smashers features co-captains Louis Gamban and JM Ronquillo, along with team members Edward Camposano, Jay Rack Dela Noche, Charlee Magpayo, JM Paglaon, Kim Dayandante, Nas Gwaza, Vince Abrot, Rick Adao, KC Andrade, Renzel Antonio, Jester Bornel, Bhim Diones, Angelo Gayud, and Robert Flores.

Ricky Palou, president of Sports Vision Management Group, Inc., welcomed the UV Smashers to the league, expressing enthusiasm for their participation and hopes for their success. He encouraged the team to showcase their skills and strive for a championship win in the future.
