Manila: The Romanian government is now accepting applications for its scholarship program for the academic year 2025-2026. The scholarship grants foreign nationals from non-European Union countries, including the Philippines, the opportunity to pursue their bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral studies in accredited Romanian higher education institutions.
According to Philippines News Agency, the program covers all fields except medicine, dental medicine, and pharmacy. Interested applicants may submit their applications before March 12, 2025, at the ‘Study in Romania’ website (scholarships.studyinromania.gov.ro).
The Romanian Embassy in Manila stated that the results of the selection process would be announced by e-mail to each applicant on or around June 30, 2025. The embassy encourages Filipinos to take advantage of this opportunity to experience the Romanian culture and expand their educational horizons.
The study program for undergraduate and master’s levels is conducted in Romanian, but a preparatory year for language studies will be granted to those who do not speak the language. For PhD level, grantees have the option to study in Romanian or a foreign language set by the doctoral school, which includes English, French, or German.
The program, funded by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attracts thousands of applicants globally every year. In 2024, at least 81,914 applications were submitted from over 100 countries.
