Bacolod city: The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) now provides premium annotation for civil registry documents at the Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) here. PSA-Negros Occidental officer-in-charge (OIC) chief statistical specialist Diesah Biaoco revealed that the processing has been decentralized, allowing clients to process requests for premium annotation directly at the provincial level, rather than solely at the regional office.
According to Philippines News Agency, the premium annotation service was launched at the Bacolod City Civil Registry Service Serbilis Outlet. The ceremony, held at the Negros Occidental PSO, was led by PSA-Negros Island Region OIC-Regional Director John Campomanes. During the event, Campomanes, alongside Biaoco, registration officer Edwin Guiking, and outlet team leader Reynad Tupaz, presented the first set of civil registry documents processed under the service to Toboso municipal civil registrar Rose Dalaguit.
The PSA clarified that the service encompasses the processing of annotation and correction of civil registry documents, including birth, marriage, and death certificates. These changes are based on administrative and court proceedings. The issuance of an annotated civil registration document through this service costs PHP255 per document, with a release time of within 10 working days upon application.
While standard filing options remain available, the premium annotation service offers a faster alternative for urgent legal updates. The service employs a digital system with data protection protocols to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of applicant information.
Campomanes emphasized that this initiative offers clients a quicker document annotation option, reducing processing times significantly. He highlighted that what previously took months can now be completed within a few days, provided there are no complications. He added that this development marks a milestone for the Negros Occidental PSO, representing a significant leap towards digital transformation, allowing Negrenses to enjoy a streamlined and secure method for updating their civil registry documents.
