Manila: The Philippine Army (PA) announced on Monday that it successfully collected 3,015 blood bags during its Army-wide Simultaneous Blood Donation event on August 23, an initiative held in observance of National Heroes’ Day.
According to Philippines News Agency, PA spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala stated that the blood donation drive was led by Army commander Lt. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete. The commander praised the military and civilian participants for their commitment and heroic contributions.
Col. Dema-ala reported that the donations came from eligible Army personnel, reservists, civilians, stakeholders, and other uniformed personnel. Lt. Gen. Nafarrete led the activity and highlighted the importance of the Army’s ongoing collaboration with stakeholders to provide vital support to local communities, including conducting voluntary blood donation drives.
