Cebu City: Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) apprehended a couple involved in illegal drug activities and seized suspected shabu valued at PHP20.5 million in Cebu City Friday night.

According to Philippines News Agency, suspects Joana Gallado and her live-in partner, Raymund Jorge, both 33, were taken into custody after a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tejero around 10:30 p.m.

Authorities recovered 16 packs of shabu weighing approximately 3,020 grams, with an estimated market value of PHP20,536,000, along with marked money and other non-drug items.

The collected evidence was forwarded to the Philippine National Police – Regional Forensic Unit (Central Visayas) for proper handling.

The suspects are detained at the local PDEA facility and are facing charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
