Batangas: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) discovered an unidentified debris bearing Chinese markings along the coast of Sitio Talim, Barangay Luyahan in Lian, Batangas, on Monday.
According to Philippines News Agency, a concerned citizen spotted the metallic debris and promptly reported it to PCG personnel for verification and assessment. In an advisory released on Tuesday, the PCG detailed that the object measured approximately 20 feet in length and 10.5 feet in width, appearing to be composed of aluminum material with visible foreign characters.
Initial investigations suggest that the Chinese characters on the debris could refer to "Antenna Transmission Window 5," although the exact origin and nature of the debris remain unidentified. The PCG has taken custody of the debris for thorough documentation, monitoring, and further assessment. They are coordinating with relevant authorities to ascertain its source and significance.
On the same day, the PCG issued a warning to fisherfolk, seafarers, and other maritime vessels in Palawan to avoid specific areas where debris from two rockets launched by the People's Republic of China (PRC) might fall later that evening and on Wednesday. The PRC's Long March 3B rocket was scheduled for launch on Tuesday between 5:40 p.m. and 6:29 p.m., while the Long March 12 rocket was set for liftoff on Wednesday between 10:37 p.m. and 11 p.m.
