Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Saturday expressed elation over the high number of job seekers who were hired on the spot during the ‘Trabaho at Serbisyong Pangkalusugan sa Bagong Pilipinas’ (Jobs and health services for a New Philippines) at Alonte Sports Arena in Bi±an City, Laguna.

According to Philippines News Agency, Marcos noted the success of the event, as many applicants were seen wearing ‘HOTS’ (hired on the spot) shirts. He appreciated the participation of numerous job seekers and the efforts made to ensure the fair’s success. The President expressed his commitment to organizing more job fairs across the nation to offer similar opportunities.

Marcos emphasized the importance of a ‘whole-of-government’ approach in tackling the challenges faced by Filipinos, particularly those in vulnerable sectors. He recognized the role of local government in the success of national livelihood and employment initiatives.

The President stated that solving the significant issues facing the population requires the collective capabilities and resources of the entire government. He assured the public of the government’s dedication to improving and expanding its services for the benefit of the people.

The job fair featured 26 local employers and companies invited by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), offering various job opportunities. Additionally, other government services and benefits were provided to residents of Laguna.

Approximately 3,000 graduating members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program received financial aid of PHP3,000 each. The DOLE also distributed PHP5,600 each to 200 beneficiaries under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers emergency employment program.

In support of the community’s health, the Department of Health conducted a medical mission and supplied anti-dengue logistics, including insecticides and larvicides, to the city health offices of Bi±an and San Pedro.
