Palace Hails $3B Danish Wind Project, Cites PH’s Strong Investor Trust

Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday welcomed a new USD3-billion investment from Danish renewable energy giant Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), signaling renewed global confidence in the country’s investment climate.

According to Philippines News Agency, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro announced in a press briefing that CIP officials paid a courtesy call on Marcos in Malaca±ang to express their commitment to invest in the Philippines’ fast-growing renewable energy sector through their partnership with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions.

‘Panibagong investment sa administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. – una sa Pilipinas, una sa Southeast Asia (A new investment under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. – first in the Philippines, first in Southeast Asia),’ Castro said.

She said CIP has committed to develop its first offshore wind farm project worth USD3 billion in Camarines Sur, marking its maiden venture in the region.

She added that the Danish firm chose to invest in the Philippines because of its strategic location and President Marcos’ strong push for a renewable energy transition.

‘Sa ganitong investment, patunay lamang na mataas pa rin ang kumpiyansa ng mga dayuhang investors na mamuhunan sa Pilipinas (This kind of investment proves that foreign investors continue to have strong confidence in investing in the Philippines),’ she said.

The Palace said the project reflects the Marcos administration’s broader goal to attract sustainable investments and diversify the country’s energy mix while improving transparency and accountability in major infrastructure programs – particularly amid ongoing reforms to address corruption issues in flood control and public works projects.
