Palace Expects NBI to Probe Fake Medical Document on PBBM Health

Manila: Malaca±ang on Thursday said it expects the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to act on the circulation of a fake medical document allegedly detailing the health condition of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro stated that spreading false information about the President's health is a serious matter.

According to Philippines News Agency, Castro emphasized the importance of investigating the issue, as fabrications about the President's health should not be taken lightly. In a Palace press briefing, she mentioned, "Dapat lang tignan dahil hindi na po biro ang biruin ang kondisyon ng kalusugan ng Pangulo." Castro asserted that the NBI is anticipated to take prompt action and identify those responsible for circulating the fake document.

She further clarified that the Palace does not need to formally request the NBI to look into the issue, expressing confidence in their responsiveness. "Hindi kailangan idulog. Mabilis ang NBI umaksyon. Alam naman nila kung ano nangyayari sa gobyerno natin at sa ating kapaligiran," Castro said. She added that the NBI is mandated to investigate such matters even without a direct order from the President.

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) condemned the circulation of what it described as "fabricated and malicious" claims regarding the President's health, including the fake medical document posted online. In response to the situation, Malaca±ang is reviewing its legal options against those responsible for spreading the false information.

In a video uploaded by the PCO on Wednesday night, President Marcos reassured the public of his good health, stating that he had already returned to work since Monday.
