P10-M Super Health Center Opens in Upland Ilocos Norte Town

Nueva era: A new PHP10 million Super Health Center has opened in Nueva Era, Ilocos Norte, expanding access to primary health care for residents in the municipality and nearby communities.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Department of Health (DOH) in Ilocos Region announced that the facility was funded through the Health Facilities Enhancement Program for fiscal year 2023. The center is the result of a collaborative effort between the DOH and the local government of Nueva Era, which is recognized for its rolling hills and agricultural landscapes.

The Super Health Center will offer diagnostic services, outpatient care, pharmacy services, and emergency maternal and medical care. This development means residents can access essential health services without the need to travel to distant cities, significantly enhancing the local healthcare infrastructure.

DOH-Ilocos Norte Provincial Health Team Leader John Lee Gacusan, Ilocos Norte 2nd District Rep. Angelo Marcos Barba, and Nueva Era Mayor Aldrin Garvida were present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mayor Garvida expressed gratitude to the DOH, emphasizing that the expansion of local health infrastructure will bring health services closer to communities and support a healthier workforce in Ilocos Norte.
