Surallah: The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) provided a PHP1.8 million delivery truck to a farmers’ group in Surallah, South Cotabato on Tuesday to enhance their agricultural trading operations. The Little Baguio Small Water Impounding and Diversified Farmers Association received the vehicle through DAR’s Agrarian Reform Fund program. Provincial agrarian reform officer Valerie Seiton led the turnover ceremony in Barangay Little Baguio.
According to Philippines News Agency, “This is a symbol of hope and progress,” association president Randy Cabaya said in an interview Wednesday. Cabaya stated that the truck will assist the 50-member group in transporting rice and palay to markets across South Cotabato province.
DAR-12 Director Mariannie Lauban-Baunto emphasized the importance of proper maintenance of the vehicle to ensure long-term benefits. The assistance falls under the agency’s Major Crop-Based Block Farming initiative aimed at supporting agrarian reform beneficiaries.
