OTS Heightens Security Measures for Undas Travel Surge

Manila:The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) is on heightened alert to ensure passenger safety amid the expected surge in travelers during the observance of Undas, Administrator Gilberto Cruz said Wednesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the OTS has deployed security auditors to ensure airports are implementing the necessary security measures. Additionally, a 24/7 information center has been activated to assist in maintaining security.

The OTS is coordinating closely with the Philippine National Police to strengthen airport security. An information campaign has been launched to remind passengers of airport safety rules, including prohibited items and the requirements for transporting firearms. Sharp objects are prohibited, while firearms may be transported with the presentation of the required documents.

Cruz also advised travelers to limit their luggage to make it easier to monitor their belongings and reminded passengers not to touch suspicious objects, urging them to report such items to police or security personnel immediately.
