Sibalom: The sixth pumping station of the Sibalom Water District (SWD) is set to provide potable water to approximately 2,000 households in the municipality of Sibalom. The construction of the PHP5.4-million facility in District 4 began with a groundbreaking ceremony.

According to Philippines News Agency, SWD general manager Jonathan De Gracia stated that the new pumping station could produce at least 1,500 cubic meters of water daily. He emphasized that the current five pumping stations are insufficient to meet the needs of the growing population and economy of Sibalom.

De Gracia highlighted that households in the nearby barangays of Ilabas, Catungan I, and Solong are expected to benefit significantly from the new facility. The SWD currently provides water to around 5,000 households across 17 barangays, including areas served by existing stations in District 1, and barangays Nagdayao, Durog, Solong, and Panlagangan.

The completion of the new pumping station is anticipated by April or May this year.
