Motorists Resume Use of EDSA-Tramo Flyover in Pasay City Following Repairs

Pasay city: Motorists can now safely use the EDSA-Tramo flyover in Pasay City following the completion of repairs on a damaged section of the structure. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the reopening of the flyover after successful repair work.

According to Philippines News Agency, the DPWH confirmed in a social media post late Sunday that the necessary repairs to the flyover had been completed. Motorists began using the structure over the weekend, marking a return to normalcy for commuters in the area.

DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon had previously ordered the immediate repair of a protruding portion of the bridge wall. This decision was made to prevent accidents and ensure public safety, highlighting the importance of maintaining infrastructure.

Last month, the DPWH swiftly implemented safety measures in the area. The agency began civil works promptly, which included the removal of damaged concrete to address the issue effectively.

The approximately 600-meter EDSA-Tramo flyover serves as a critical link between EDSA and Aurora Boulevard. It provides motorists with a shorter route to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals, avoiding the need to pass through Taft Avenue or Roxas Boulevard.

The flyover has been a vital part of the city's infrastructure since its opening to motorists in March 2003.
