Marcos Hails Presidential Airlift Wing’s Dedication, Professionalism

Pasay city: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday praised the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing (PAW) for its dedication and professionalism, emphasizing its essential role in providing air mobility that facilitates his official missions. Celebrating the 58th anniversary of the 250th PAW at the Philippine Air Force Multipurpose Gymnasium in Pasay City, Marcos acknowledged the unit's significant contribution to the government's swift response to communities in need.

According to Philippines News Agency, Marcos highlighted the Wing's ability to respond quickly, illustrating its impact through his visits to disaster-affected areas. He recounted trips to Bacolor, Pampanga, where he assessed the flooding impact, and visits to Cebu and Sarangani for earthquake damage inspections and support delivery. Marcos noted that the Wing's efforts extend beyond transporting him, also providing mobility for presidential staff, support personnel, and other officials for various official and humanitarian missions.

The President lauded the unit's capacity to ensure safe and reliable air mobility for the First Family, government officials, and foreign dignitaries. He emphasized the trust placed in the Wing, not only for his safety but also for the safety of the First Family. Reflecting on his personal connection to the unit, Marcos shared his familiarity with its operations since childhood, mentioning experiences aboard its aircraft.

Marcos described the Wing as a 'state-of-the-art' unit, highlighting the importance of continuous training, modernization, discipline, teamwork, and judgment in ensuring mission success and safety. He congratulated the unit and individual awardees, attributing their achievements to the collective strength of the 250th PAW. Additionally, he expressed gratitude towards the Wing's pilots, crew, maintenance and security personnel, civilian workforce, and their families.

Encouraging the personnel to maintain the trust bestowed by the nation, Marcos remarked on the importance of discipline and teamwork in achieving successful operations. The 250th PAW stands as the Air Force's premier air mobility unit, responsible for providing secure and dignified air transportation for the President, the First Family, visiting heads of state, and other dignitaries.
