Noveleta: The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is striving to complete the repairs on the Manila-Cavite Road in Noveleta, Cavite, before the 'Undas' holidays, which include All Saints' and All Souls' Days in November.
According to Philippines News Agency, Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon expressed this goal during his second visit to the project site on Tuesday, as reported in a news release by the agency on Wednesday. Dizon mentioned the importance of favorable weather conditions in meeting the project timeline.
Dizon observed a significant improvement in the project's progress. During his initial visit in July, the repairs were only 6 percent complete. However, the recent visit showed nearly 50 percent completion. He emphasized the urgency of the project, highlighting President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to expedite infrastructure projects to alleviate daily challenges faced by Filipinos.
The delays in the project have led to severe traffic congestion, affecting both motorists and commuters. Dizon, accompanied by Cavite Governor Francisco Gabriel Remulla and other local officials, urged the continuation of 24/7 operations to ensure timely completion.
