Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has officially declared a series of local holidays for November and December through a series of proclamations. These announcements are aimed at commemorating various founding anniversaries and local festivals across different regions of the Philippines.
According to Philippines News Agency, the proclamations include Proclamation 711, which declares a holiday in the City of Valenzuela on November 12 to mark its 401st founding anniversary. Similarly, Proclamation 712 designates November 15 as a holiday in the province of Oriental Mindoro for its 74th founding anniversary. Proclamation 713 and 714 focus on the city of Palayan, Nueva Ecija, with November 22 set aside for a festival of thanksgiving and December 5 for its 59th founding anniversary.
The municipalities of Itogon and Tublay in Benguet province will observe their respective founding anniversaries on November 22, as outlined in Proclamations 715 and 716. Additionally, Proclamation 717 marks November 23 as a h
oliday for the entire Benguet province, celebrating its 124th founding anniversary.
In the province of Davao de Oro, Proclamation 718 declares a holiday in Maragusan on November 25 for the celebration of Araw ng Maragusan. Meanwhile, Dasmariñas City in Cavite will observe its founding anniversary on November 26, as stated in Proclamation 719.
Proclamation 720 designates November 28 as a special non-working day in Sarangani province for its 32nd founding anniversary and the annual MunaTo Festival. The same date is declared a holiday in Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte, for its 73rd founding anniversary through Proclamation 721.
Tanay, Rizal will celebrate the 14th Hane Festival with a holiday on November 8, as per Proclamation 725. Finally, Proclamation 726 honors the 154th anniversary of Eugenio Daza with a holiday in Borongan, Eastern Samar on November 15. Daza, born in Borongan in 1870, was a significant figure during the Philippine war against the United States and served in the Philippine Assembly from 1907
to 1909.
