Manila: Malacañang has officially released the list of regular holidays and special non-working days for the year 2025. Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin signed Proclamation 727 on October 30, which was made public on Thursday, outlining the specific dates for these holidays.
According to Philippines News Agency, the proclamation designates several dates as regular holidays and special non-working days. Regular holidays include New Year’s Day on January 1, Araw ng Kagitingan on April 9, Maundy Thursday on April 17, Good Friday on April 18, Labor Day on May 1, Independence Day on June 12, National Heroes Day on August 25, Bonifacio Day on November 30, Christmas Day on December 25, and Rizal Day on December 30.
Special non-working days have also been declared, including Ninoy Aquino Day on August 21, All Saints Day on November 1, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary on December 8, and the Last Day of the Year on December 31. Additionally, February 25 has been designated as a special working day in
observance of the EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary.
Further, additional special non-working days include Chinese New Year on January 29, Black Saturday on April 19, Christmas Eve on December 24, and All Saints’ Day Eve on October 31. The proclamation notes that the dates for the observance of Eidul Fitr and Eidul Adha will be announced later, based on the Islamic calendar or astronomical calculations, as recommended by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has been tasked with issuing the implementing guidelines for this proclamation, with immediate effect expected.
In a separate announcement, the Palace declared July 27, 2025, a special non-working day nationwide to commemorate the founding anniversary of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC). This was formalized in Proclamation 729, also signed by Bersamin, to allow members of INC to fully participate in the occasion.
