Manila: The Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1), LRT-2, and the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) are set to operate on their regular schedules throughout All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day to accommodate the anticipated increase in passenger numbers during this period.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC), which manages LRT-1, confirmed that train services will proceed uninterrupted starting October 31, a day recognized as a special non-working holiday, and continuing through the weekend of November 1 and 2. For LRT-1, the initial trains will depart from Dr. Santos and Fernando Poe Jr. stations at 5 a.m., with the final trains scheduled to leave at 9:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., respectively.
The MRT-3 has similarly assured passengers that its trains will adhere to their standard weekday and weekend timetables. On weekends, MRT-3 trains will commence operations with the first departures from North Avenue and Taft Avenue stations at 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., respectively, and the final trains leaving at 9:30 p.m. and 10:09 p.m.
Furthermore, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) has not reported any service suspensions during this period. However, Beep has announced a temporary halt in its on-the-spot concessionary card issuance program (CCIP) for students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities across all three rail lines from October 31 to November 2, with services resuming on November 3.
