Lead by Example, Marcos Tells Newly-Promoted PNP Execs

Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday called on newly-promoted senior officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to lead by example and carry out their duty with pride and integrity. Speaking at the oath-taking of the 39 newly-promoted star rank officers of the police force in Malaca±ang, Marcos underscored the significant responsibilities the officers now bear.

According to Philippines News Agency, Marcos told the police officers, “It is, thus, incumbent upon you to lead by example.” He reminded the PNP officials that they now have “to guide, to discipline, and to inspire” the men and women under their command. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that all PNP personnel fulfill their duties with integrity, competence, and trustworthiness, given the police force’s crucial role in maintaining peace and order, protecting communities, and responding to calamities.

The President also highlighted the expectations the public has of the police force, one that is “reliable, responsive and resolutely committed to protecting the lives of every Filipino.” He stated that Filipinos expect to live in a safe, fair, and just environment where peace and order are observed while upholding the rights and dignity of all citizens.

Marcos challenged the officers to rise to the challenges ahead and live up to those expectations. “We must meet them with every ounce of our strength. We must not falter. We must deliver,” he said. He acknowledged the difficulties ahead but reminded the officers that their badges represent not just authority but also their convictions. “There is no greater, more honorable calling than to serve and to protect the country,” he concluded.
