Manila: The region’s leading online travel platform, Klook, is now offering curated tour packages from the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) flagship Philippine Experience Program (PEP), featuring five Filipino destinations rich in culture, heritage, and arts. The initiative was formally launched on January 15, with the signing of a memorandum of agreement between Klook and the DOT.
According to Philippines News Agency, the destinations include tours in Palawan, Calabarzon, Bicol, Ilocos, and the Western Visayas, with Bacolod City as the focus. Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco expressed gratitude for Klook’s partnership, emphasizing its support for the “Love the Philippines” campaign, which aims to showcase the country’s attractions globally. She noted that this program aligns with the National Tourism Development Plan’s focus on digital innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity as key pillars for tourism development.
Travelers can easily search for “Klook Exclusive: Culture, Heritage and Arts Tour” on the platform, with prices varying based on the packages chosen. For example, the Calabarzon leg includes three nights and four days of accommodation, meals, and transportation, costing PHP33,888 per person for a group of four or PHP24,888 per person for a group of eight.
Klook President and Co-Founder Eric Gnock Fah expressed excitement about partnering with the Department of Tourism, highlighting the importance of ensuring that digital transformation impacts the entire tourism industry. He emphasized the collaboration with government bodies to include all parties in the Philippine tourism sector and to connect these experiences to global travelers.
Beyond the PEP curated tours, the partnership aims to integrate the DOT’s Tourist Rest Areas (TRAs) on Klook and explore partnerships with Mactan-Cebu International Airport and Clark International Airport through DOT endorsement. Klook currently offers over half a million travel experiences on its platform, catering to more than 2,700 destinations nationwide.
