INC to Distribute Commemorative Pins at Manila Rally for Transparency

Manila: Attendees of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) rally at Rizal Park in Manila starting on Sunday will receive a souvenir of the religious group’s three-day event aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance.

According to Philippines News Agency, the INC News and Updates announced through social media that commemorative button pins will be distributed among all members present at the gatherings from November 16 to 18. These pins are part of the “Rally for Transparency and a Better Democracy,” and are provided by CEBSI (Christian Era Broadcasting Service International, Inc.), the broadcast arm of the INC.

The post highlighted that the pins are symbolic of the group’s collective call for accountability, justice, and peace, which are values aimed at strengthening the nation and supporting true democracy. The group emphasized that over 100 days have passed without accountability for uncovered anomalies in flood control projects, which were exposed starting in July and have implicated government officials and private contractors in corruption.

The Office of the Ombudsman, Department of Justice, Department of Public Works and Highways, and the Independent Commission for Infrastructure are all conducting separate investigations into these allegations.

In light of the rally, the city of Manila has announced the suspension of face-to-face classes in all public and private schools on November 17 and 18, advising them to switch to an Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM). Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has also arranged for 14 ambulances to be on standby for medical emergencies and ensured security measures with the Manila Police District (MPD) and Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) to manage the event’s impact on the city.
